Kingscliff - Dreamtime Beach Coastal Zone Management Plan
The Kingscliff -Dreamtime Beach Coastal Zone Management Plan will provide practical actions to address current and future risks to the beach’s ecological and community values and the immediate foreshore lands as a result of erosion and other coastal processes.
The draft plan identifies three precincts along Kingscliff Beach and Dreamtime Beach, each with its own characteristics, values and requirements for action.
- The Hazard Protection Precinct extends from the Cudgen Headland Surf Life Savings Club (SLSC) to the Kingscliff Beach Bowling Club. This precinct currently experiences severe risks from erosion and inundation.
- The Natural Beach and Habitat Precinct covers Dreamtime Beach between Fingal Head and the northern boundary of Jack Bayliss Park.
- The Passive Community Use Precinct covers Faulks Park, Lions Park and Jack Bayliss Park. These areas are already used extensively for passive community activities such as walking and picnicking in the parkland sections, and swimming, surfing and sunbathing at the beach.
