Sustainable Procurement Survey

We know that many businesses are already taking steps towards improving sustainability appropriate to their size, location and experiences. We are seeking feedback on Council's new sustainability schedules based on these questions:

  • Are sustainability criteria simple to understand?
  • Do you know how to address sustainability criteria?
  • Is your business already addressing sustainability in its operations, products and services?

New sustainability criteria in Tweed Shire Council purchasing

Through the procurement activities of Tweed Shire Council, we have the opportunity to contribute to a sustainable future for the Tweed – balancing the needs of people, planet and profit. Our Community Strategic Plan recognises this, with its strategic pillars of protecting the natural environment and supporting people and businesses in the Tweed to thrive.

When we talk about sustainability, we are referring to both environmental and social needs, balancing the needs of today with the needs of future generations. Our objective is to minimise risk from our impacts on people and the environment, and to maximise the benefits for a sustainable future.
