I am retired and a Tweed resident having lived here for 3 years. Currently I spend my time in various volunteer roles for the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Hospital and the Tweed Valley Justice Association as a Justice of the Peace. I am a Director of Club Tweed helping guide that multi-million dollar business through these time s of economic pressure and political uncertainty. I am a keen lawn bowler. In the recent past, I was the Chairman of the Board of Directors at a Mid North Coast country club. As part of that role I participated in, and facilitated components of the funding, liaison and construction of the North Coast High Performance Sport Centre. This was a government and community funded project, constructed on Country Club land, and project managed by Council. The outcome was a multipurpose grandstand and sporting complex capable of accommodating several indoor sports and providing a venue for sports development and coaching. My interest in sport stems from my own participation throughout my life in such sports as rugby union, basketball and swimming. I have also coached and been an administrator in all of these sports. My professional background is in public sector management, natural resource management and community engagement at the strategic level.
