The Project Reference Group (PRG) has been set up to help guide the planning and development of the Tweed Regional Indoor Sports and Aquatic Centre. The group brings together community representatives and stakeholders to make sure the facility reflects local needs and supports informed decision-making by Tweed Shire Council.
The PRG Expression of Interest (EOI) process has now closed, and the group is ready to go. You can check out the group members’ biographies on the right side of this page.
What is the Project Reference Group?
The Project Reference Group is a team of local community members and stakeholders who work with Tweed Shire Council to guide important projects. For the Tweed Regional Indoor Sports and Aquatic Centre, the PRG helps ensure the facility meets the needs of the community and aligns with local priorities.
What does the PRG do?
The PRG will:
Represent different community and user group perspectives to make sure all voices are heard.
Review project plans and designs, offering advice and recommendations.
Provide input to the project team on how the facility should be developed.
Share information with the community, acting as advocates for the project.
The PRG plays a key role in making sure community input shapes every part of the planning and design process.
What do PRG members do?
Members of the Project Reference Group are expected to:
Attend regular meetings, either in person or online, usually once a month.
Review project materials, such as plans and designs, and provide feedback.
Represent their community or user group, offering input based on local needs.
Keep sensitive information confidential when necessary.
Take an active role in helping shape the project and ensuring it meets the community's needs.
By participating, members help make sure the project reflects the best interests of the community throughout its development.
