Community Climate Action Projects

These are the top projects nominated by attendees at the recent Climate Action Cafes. These projects have at least one community member already associated with them. Please let us know if you'd like to get involved in one or more of the following. 

Repair café + Bike repair café + Sewing/mending café
Plant, plant, plant trees (in partnership)
Education to help people engage with politics and connect with decision makers
Focus on avoiding single use coffee cups
Decrease food waste from restaurants (e.g. commercial compost)
Community energy project
Educate people about local agriculture and food system
Education on climate change - workshops
Gather knowledge through citizen science (wildlife)
Be a local visitor to the Tweed (nature tourism)
Care for and educate about soil health
Educate consumers about consequences of diet
Support grow your own food culture
Support people in energy poverty through education and tools - in partnership with community groups
On the verge - gardens for food, wildlife and community
New ways of connecting with more diverse audiences e.g. science in the pub, poetry cafe, art competition...
