You are invited to review and provide submission on the draft Asset Management Strategy which documents and demonstrates an integrated approach to the planning and coordination of asset management across various asset groups and shows how the asset portfolio will achieve the vision and goals in a sustainable way.
Background
Council adopted an Asset Management Policy on 16 June 2022, following a public exhibition period.
Council is also required to adopt an Asset Management Strategy which must span a minimum of 10 years. The strategy places councillors and staff in a better position to understand the condition of current assets and ensures decision-making accounts for potential impacts on future generations.
The Asset Management Strategy is a ‘living’ document that will include benchmarks and milestones aimed at improving Council’s asset management processes and procedures. It must therefore be monitored regularly and adjusted or updated to reflect progression in its implementation. It also needs to reflect any major changes in Council’s asset portfolio from new asset investments or disposals that have resulted from the Delivery Program or Community Strategic Plan.
Have your say
The draft policy is now on public exhibition.
You are invited to let us know your thoughts on the draft Policy in writing using the submission form below before 4pm on 7 December 2022.
