Project Update 3 August: This survey has now closed. All feedback will be reviewed to help inform an Access Plan for the Tyalgum Extreme slip works site.
The extreme slip on Tyalgum Road east of Tyalgum is the biggest landslip in the Tweed Shire resulting from the record 2022 floods.
The restoration process is complex and the final, detailed design has taken time to finalise, be approved and receive disaster funding from the NSW Government.
Tweed Shire Council has engaged contractor SEE Civil Pty Ltd to complete the $16 million project. The detailed design includes a ‘Pedestrian Access’ track through the works site to enable escorted access on foot through this damaged section of Tyalgum Road as restoration works progress.
To understand more about what the Tyalgum community needs from the pedestrian access facility, we are asking local residents and business owners to provide their feedback by Wednesday 2 August 2023.
The information you provide will help inform and guide us in the finalisation of a Pedestrian Access Management Plan for the works site, regarding amenity and safety.
