MGN Civil engaged to undertake levee repair
15 July 2019
Council has received $3.75 million in Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) funding to repair the South Murwillumbah Flood Levee.
The levee damage is mostly on private property and for the past six months Council has been consulting with private landowners to seek their cooperation to grant access to the levee to undertake repairs. Those negotiations have been successful.
Council has engaged NSW Public Works Advisory to manage the repairs by contractor MGN Civil, who will be on site before the end of July to December 2019, weather permitting.
