Resource Recovery areas
This project is part of Phase 1 of the Tweed Recycling and Landfill Centre Master Plan to improve the layout and site design for all users.
Organics Processing Facility Site Entrance Overhaul Landfill for Community Waste Resource Recovery Areas Water and Leachate Management Roads and Signage
Improvements to the current set up will create a more pleasant pedestrian and traffic safe environment.
This project will improve:
- weather protection with undercover areas
- safety and amenities by providing better access
- clearly marked areas for better resource recovery
- space for customers to move cars and trailers safely and easily
This project includes drop off areas for recycling and waste and garden organics.
Recycling and Waste Area
Improvements to the recycling and waste area will make it easier to drop off metal, other recyclables, problem waste and as a last resort - waste to landfill. Undercover areas will provide weather protection with new clearly marked and organised collection bins. This will assist customers with more cost savings and less to landfill.
This project will:
- decrease the amount of waste to landfill
- manned control booth assisting customers
- make it easier to drop off metal, other recyclables, problem waste

Garden Organics Drop off Area
Proposed upgrades of the garden organics site entrance with clearly marked entry and exit defined areas. It will also include undercover areas for unloading and loading compost for community sales.
This project will improve:
- safety
- designated space to store stock
- weather protection wih undercover areas
