The NSW Government has released a second draft of the Far North Coast Regional Water Strategy.
Everyone throughout the Far North Coast is invited to provide feedback and make formal submissions on the revised draft.
The draft Far North Coast Regional Water Strategy, including a long list of options, was released from 30 October to 13 December 2020.
In June 2022, the NSW Government released a progress report recognising the considerable impact the February–March 2022 floods have had on Far North Coast communities. The progress report provided context to the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation’s (CSIRO) independent review of the Far North Coast regional water strategy.
Since this public consultation, the NSW Government has taken on board community feedback. They have undertaken additional analyses to identify the challenges in the region that need to be tackled first and have shortlisted the options into proposed actions that will help address these challenges. The new consultation paper presents the outcomes of this work.
