Talk to the coastal consultant behind the plan

Community members will have a chance to speak to the consultant who produced the draft Kingscliff – Dreamtime Beach Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP), when she attends the Kingscliff Matters shopfront this Wednesday afternoon (30 March).

Coastal consultant Verity Rolleson, from BMT WBM, will be at the Kingscliff shopfront from 3pm to 7pm, to explain and discuss the objectives and processes behind the draft plan.

The draft CZMP, which goes on public exhibition today until 4 May, is the main focal point at the shopfront during the next fortnight until 1 April.

The plan will provide practical actions to address current and future risks to the beach’s ecological and community values and the immediate foreshore lands as a result of erosion and other coastal processes.

It documents an approach to protection works at Kingscliff up to 2050, based upon the preceding Kingscliff Coastal Risk Management Study.
