Expressions of Interest to join the Project Reference Group for the Tweed Regional Indoor Sports and Aquatic Centre are now open and close on Saturday 25 January 2025.

The Project Reference Group (PRG) brings together community representatives and stakeholders to provide advice on the planning and development of the proposed Tweed Regional Indoor Sports and Aquatic Centre. Its purpose is to ensure the facility reflects community needs and aspirations while supporting Council in making informed decisions.



What is a Project Reference Group?


A Project Reference Group is a team of community members and stakeholders who guide the development of key projects in partnership with Tweed Shire Council. For the Tweed Regional Indoor Sports and Aquatic Centre, the PRG will provide advice to ensure the proposed facility meets the needs and priorities of the community


What is the role of the Indoor Sports Facility Project Reference Group?


The Project Reference Group will:

  • Represent a range of community and user group perspectives
  • Review project plans and designs
  • Offer advice and recommendations to the project team
  • Act as advocates, sharing balanced information with the broader community.

The group ensures community input is included at every stage of the project’s planning and design.



What does a Committee Member need to do?


Project Reference Group members will:

  • Attend regular meetings (in person or online), typically held monthly or as needed
  • Review and discuss project materials, including designs and plans
  • Provide feedback representing their community or user group
  • Respect confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Members are expected to participate actively and ensure the project aligns with community needs.
