Growth Management and Housing Strategy
As the fastest growing local government area in the Northern NSW, well planned housing and employment opportunities are critical to the Tweed's economic, social and environmental sustainability.
Housing and employment present a diverse range of complex landuse issues to consider including supply, affordability, type, location, access to services and facilities. Working close to home can reduce travel time and provide opportunities to spend more time on recreation or with family which in turn can positively affect the wellbeing of local communities.
Understanding what the Tweed desires for it's long term future, will allow the pieces of the housing puzzle to fit together in a way that best meets the needs and desires of the Tweed community.
Growth Management and Housing Strategy
Council has prioritised the development of a Growth Management and Housing Strategy (GMHS) to guide housing and related employment opportunities throughout the Tweed and make sure rural areas of the shire are considered appropriately.
The GMHS will take a balanced approach to economic, social, and environmental matters and will guide decision making about housing and employment opportunities throughout the Tweed into the future.
