Project update

Crystal Creek Hall was closed in 2023 after the building was deemed unsafe by structural engineers.

Works to make the building safe and up to code were substantial - and as its usage has been minimal over the last decade and it had fallen into disrepair - the only option was to remove the building.

After a tender submission process, demolition of the Crystal Creek Hall began in November 2024. These works are expected to be finalised by the end of the year.

Further community consultation on future use options of the site will take place in 2025.

The next closest community hall available for community activities is Chillingham Hall approximately 5km (6 minutes) away located at the Cnr Satinwood Place and Numinbah Road.

The history of Crystal Creek Hall

Crystal Creek Hall was opened in 1911 on land donated by a local community member. Previously the hall was used for weddings, kitchen teas, community parties, dance classes, fancy dress parties and school functions. Significant use of the hall was by the local school before it built its own hall.
