Project update 22 August 2024

The Burringbar Memorial Reserve and Masterson Park Draft Concept Plan, which was on public exhibition from 3 October to 14 November 2023, received 95 community submissions, most of which were in favour of the concept plan.

At the August Council meeting, it was decided to adopt the plan and prioritise to seek funding for the playground outlined in the plan. Additionally, Council will work with the community to integrate the temporary Cycling Without Age container into the landscape and explore options to enhance car parking facilities for the Rail Trail in and around Burringbar.

The findings of the community survey and additional submissions received during the public exhibition period are now available in the Community Engagement Report.

Community consultation on the draft concept plan occurred from 3 October to 14 November 2023. Thank you to everyone who participated. Feedback will inform the final concept plan. The plan is funding dependent.

The draft plan aims to unite priorities and preserve the heritage, culture and character of the village, while embracing the community values. An initial community survey took place from 17 November to 23 December 2022.

Feedback was reviewed and a draft concept plan has been developed, guided by the community’s desire for the following:

  • a new nature playspace
  • community gathering place for music events
  • additional seating
  • picnic tables
  • an accessible barbeque
  • native planting and landscaping
  • an upgrade to the car park
