Consultation has concluded
Council is finalising the design for a new playground at Wilson Park, in Banora Point East, after the original facility was removed during the Pacific Highway upgrade completed in 2012.
Visit the documents library to see the proposed layout and click here to send an emailed submission before Tuesday 28 July.
With a handover of the site from Roads and Maritime Service to Council now completed, Council has designed a replacement playground based on feedback received during community consultation in 2012.
The new playground will cater for a wide age group of children, with a climbing structure and platforms with interactive panels and slides, as well as an embankment slide and a set of double swings.
The layout will also incorporate a new shelter and picnic setting, as well as additional seating, new tree planting for future shade and garden beds.
In addition, an existing tennis court will be retained, after it was one of the key issues raised during the consultation in 2012.
A plaque from the original playground, commemorating the Wilson family, has been reinstated at the site.
Information about the upgrade is also available at www.tweed.nsw.gov.au/ParksAndGardens or by contacting Council's Landscape Architect, Ian Bentley, on (02) 6670 2400.
