In recognition of the significant flood risks associated with South Murwillumbah and surrounds, Council, with the assistance of specialist consultants, has prepared a local Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan for the area. The primary goal of the project was to quantify the nature and extent of the existing flooding problem and evaluate options that could be potentially implemented to better manage the flood risk.
