You are invited to provide input to help inform a draft of Council’s updated Development Servicing Plans for Water Supply and Sewerage.

About the updated draft

Council’s Development Servicing Plans detail the water supply and sewerage developer charges to be levied on development areas that use its water supply and sewerage infrastructure. These plans are reviewed every 4 to 8 years and this year, Council has drafted revised plans.

On 18 April 2024, the elected Council resolved to adopt uniform shire-wide developer charges for water supply and sewerage services and place the revised plans on exhibition.

The revised plans propose a single development servicing area for water supply and sewerage in the Tweed, with associated charges of:

  • $12,576 for water
  • $7,798 for sewerage.

These proposed charges, including CPI adjustments, represent a small decrease in the development cost per lot for sewerage and a slight increase in the development cost per lot for water.

The revised plans have been prepared based on the NSW Department of Planning and Environment’s 2016 Developer Charges Guidelines for Water Supply, Sewerage and Stormwater.
