Council uses traditional media and social media to share accurate and up-to-date info about its services, facilities, and policies with the community. The draft Media Policy (Model Code) and the draft Social Media Policy (Model Code) apply to Councillors, Council staff, members of Council committees and delegates of Council.

These policies replace the Communications Policy, which was adopted in September 2017 and updated in February 2108. The Office of Local Government (OLG) finalised the Model Media Policy and Model Social Media Policy in December 2022. The Model Policies reflect best practice and all Councils and joint organisations are encouraged to adopt them.
