Expressions of interest are now open for Council's Audit Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC).

Advisory Committees are an important part of Council’s commitment to community engagement.

The work of Council covers a wide range of programs, many of which require specialist, expert knowledge. Councillors take the advice and recommendations from our Advisory Committees very seriously and members' knowledge, skills and experience provide them with valuable insight to support them to make good decisions in the best interests of the Tweed community.

We are looking for people with suitable knowledge, skills and experience to serve on ARIC for a 4-year term, following a member resignation.


Purpose of the Committee


The objective of the Committee is to provide, independent assurance, oversight and assistance to Tweed Shire Council by keeping the following Council functions under review:

a) compliance

b) internal and external audit

c) risk management

d) fraud control

e) financial management

f) governance

g) implementation of the strategic plan, delivery program and strategies

h) service reviews

i) collection of performance measurement data by the council

j) any other matters prescribed by the regulations.

The Committee also provides information to the council for the purpose of improving the council’s performance of its functions.
