Where: Crystal Creek Estate Cafe, 1004 Numinbah Road, Crystal Creek NSW 2484

Local residents are invited to share their views to determine the future use of this site.

Following advice from structural engineers, Tweed Shire Council closed the Crystal Creek Hall as it was deemed unsafe. Council would like to hear the views of the Crystal Creek community to determine the future use of this site.

Background

Crystal Creek Hall was opened in 1911 on land donated by a local community member. Previously the hall was used for weddings, kitchen teas, community parties, dance classes, fancy dress parties and school functions. Significant use of the hall was by the local school before it built its own hall.

The hall was closed because the building was deemed unsafe. According to the structural engineers, works to make the building safe and up to code are substantial. The only option for Crystal Creek Hall in its current state is to remove the building.

The next closest community hall available for community activities is Chillingham Hall approximately 5km (6 minutes) away located at the Cnr Satinwood Place and Numinbah Road.
