Council proposes to classify land at Condong Street, Murwillumbah as operational.

Lot 1 in DP922942, Condong Street, Murwillumbah is to be transferred to Tweed Shire Council from The Minister for Public Works. Council intends to use this land for sewer reticulation works. The lot is outlined in the location diagram shown below.


Council proposes to classify the land as operational land in accordance with the provisions of section 31(2) of the Local Government Act 1993.

What is Operational Land?

Operational land ordinarily comprises land held as an asset or as an investment, land which facilitates Council carrying out its functions or land which may not be open to the general public.
