What is the Child Safe Policy?

The Child Safe Policy outlines our commitment to child safety and the rights and wellbeing of all children who interact with our services and activities. This policy serves as a clear guide for workers who interact with children in our workplace. The key actions of the Child Safe Policy are:

  • We listen! We make sure children are heard and considered in our decisions.
  • Safety first, always. We have a zero-tolerance policy for all forms of harm to children including child abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  • Prevention is key. We actively take steps to prevent risks and promote child safety.
  • We respond to concerns. We have a clear and fair process for responding to all reports and taking the necessary steps to keep children safe.

What is the aim of the Policy?

The Policy aims to:

  • Proactively create a safe and welcoming space for children using our services and joining in on our activities
  • Make sure everyone knows what they need to do and has what they need to keep kids safe, according to both the law and what's morally right
  • Respond quickly and properly deal with any worries or complaints about the safety of a child
  • Respect and celebrate different cultures and practices and backgrounds of all children, making sure every child feels safe and valued within our diverse community.
