Project update - November 2022

Work has commenced on the Jetties Boardwalk. The first section of work will be completed by 11 November 2022. There will then be a temporary halt to all work. Work on the remaining sections of the Jetties Boardwalk will re-commence in January 2023.

The timber sub-structure of the jetties has been found to be in worse condition than was anticipated and will require additional materials to be purchased to allow completion. A significant increase in the amount of large hardwood timber is required, and will ultimately result in an almost 100% replacement of the boardwalk sub-structure. Unfortunately, due to supply restrictions, timber delivery cannot keep up with the intended construction timeframe.

Upon completion of the first section of work, the transition from the old to new section will be made safe, and construction fencing will remain in place to deter general public access to the site. Access to vessels will be possible.

The remaining work will then be completed. More accurate dates and locations of works will be provided on this page.

Council requests your patience and understanding in regards to the logistics of the project and working around private vessels and the mooring facility.
